Imphal, September 22 2021: The Department of Radiation Oncology, RIMS organised World Rose Day today at the conference hall of Radiation Oncology.

The program was attended by Prof A Santa Singh, Director RIMS; Prof Nepram Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent and Dr T Dhaneshor Sharma, HOD Oncology Department as presidium members, said a statement issued by RIMS today.

Speaking at the program, Prof A Santa Singh said by observing World Rose Day, "we are bringing happiness and hope into the lives of such patients and reminding them that they can emerge victorious in their battle against cancer through determination and positivity" .

Most of the patients admitted to the department are from poor families and the hospital is providing affordable health care services along with various schemes launched by the Prime Minister meant especially for the cancer patients, he added.

Fruits and other edible items were also distributed to cancer patients admitted in the ward.

BJP OBC Morcha, Manipur Pradesh also distributed fruits and sweets to the cancer patients as a part of Seva Aur Samarpan Abhiyan on the occasion of 71st birthday celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
