In Mumbai, price of petrol breached Rs. 100 per litre level on May 29 this year.

The recent price gain in the commodity is owing to the drop in US crude inventory to its lowest level in 3 years. Since oil marketing companies have been confronting high margin squeeze, there is viewed gains in the international crude rate will result in hike in retail selling price of auto fuel in Indian markets.
