Biren reaches out to Tamenglong, Noney with 25 projects

Imphal/Tamenglong, September 22 2021: The district administrations of Tamenglong and Noney held an 'outreach programme' at Tamenglong Football Ground where Chief Minister N Biren inaugurated 25 projects located in different parts of Tamenglong and Noney districts, and laid foundation stones for four new projects.
The projects inaugurated today included an oxygen plant and a 50-bedded additional block of Tamenglong District Hospital.
Speaking at the function, the Chief Minister stated that he and his Cabinet Ministers were there to hand over what they promised four years back to the people of Tamenglong and Noney.
Among others, the 'outreach programme' was attended by Power Minister Th Biswajit, Forest and Environment Minister Awangbow Newmai, Education Minister S Rajen, Agriculture Minister O Lukhoi, TA and Hills Minister Vungzagin Valte, Advisor to CM (Health) Dr S Ranjan and Tamenglong ADC care-taker Chairman Namsinrei Panmei.

However majority of the shops at Tamenglong district headquarters remained shut.
Biren said that he and his Cabinet Ministers would distribute health cards, mobile phones (for attending online classes), laptops etc to 1383 beneficiaries.
He informed that different projects with the total cost of Rs 953.53 crore are being executed in Tamenglong and Noney districts.
The first priority of the BJP-led Government is uplifting the lives of underprivileged sections and bringing uniform development across the State, he said.
The State Government would always act in line with the people's wishes and aspirations.
The development projects taken up in Tamenglong district have brought noticeable changes in the district's landscape, he said.
Claiming that Tamenglong district is developing fast, Biren asserted that he has been personally monitoring to ensure that Tamenglong becomes the most advanced district in the State.
But development of a district or region is very much dependent on the wisdom of the local people.
It is because of the tireless efforts and wisdom of the people of Tamenglong that the district achieved remarkable progress during the last few years, Biren said.
Now there are trauma centre, oxygen plant and blood bank in Tamenglong district hospital, the secondary school has been upgraded and Haipou Jadonang College has been converted as a Government college, he continued.
The natural football ground located at Tamenglong headquarters would be equipped with flood light.
The first phase of the mega Tamenglong Water Supply Scheme has been already inaugurated and the second phase would be inaugurated within a very short time, the Chief Minister assured.
It is a matter of pride that Tamenlong orange has received GI tag while due permission has been granted to rename Keimai Railway Station as Rani Gaidinliu Railway Station.
"It will be scripted in the history of India where the people of Tamenglong did not take compensation for construction of the road and donated the land for development and for this reason I will stand and promise to develop Tamenglong at any cost", added N Biren.
Biren also issued a sanction order of Rs 3 crore to build a mini secretariat at Tamenglong headquarters.
The Chief Minister also announced that the shortest road from Tamenglong to Thingou railway station will be constructed at the earliest and Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned under the backward development fund for developing the Zeme tribe of Tamenglong district.
Awangbow Newmai, Forest Minister and caretaker of Tamenglong and Noney districts also stated that construction of the long awaited Tamenglong- Halflong and Tousem road has already started.
"So let us also acknowledge and appreciate the work done by the people's Chief Minister, N Biren Singh", Awangbow said.
More than 4000 people gathered and welcomed the Chief Minister and his colleagues.
