Community Service Booth opened at Kakching Lamkhai

Kakching, September 22 2021: Kakching district SP Victoria Yengkhom opened a community service police booth at Kakching Lamkhai which will provide facilities like mobile charging point, drinking water and face mask at free of cost.
ASPs Kshetrimayum Manihar, Yumnam Joyraj and Athokpam Romendro, SDPO Kakching/Sugnu Konjengbam Gitchandra, Kakching PS OC Akoijam Premjit, Pallel PS OC Matum Singh Heisnam, CDO Kakching OC Md Abas Khan, Reserve Line (Kakching) OC Pukhrambam Lokendro and leaders of Kakching Lamkhai Bazar Board Action Committee attended the launch function held on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Victoria recounted that the district police launched the cycle patrol unit on November 5, 2018 with the objective of promoting better relationship between police and public.
The initiative brought good results and won Chief Minister's Trophy for Community Service in 2019 .
This year too, women constable Nongthombam Romila of the cycle patrol unit won an award, she said.
The award money of Rs 20,000 was utilised for opening the community service police booth at Kakching Lamkhai, which is the junction of NH 102 (Imphal-Moreh Road) and Burma-Sugnu Road.
The police booth is providing free mobile charging point, drinking water and face mask facilities at free of cost to needy people, she informed.
She thanked GR Infra Company Limited, Preety Bakes Imphal's Kshetrimayum Michael and Blue Dark Express Manipur for donating materials for the booth.
