'My MRI results came in for my back. They have ruled out spondylitis but have bulging disks and L5 root nerve issues,' she wrote.

'Now off to see a spinal surgeon for my options re pain management and surgery.'

She added: 'I'm a little bit broken, the pain is excruciating some days.'

She said she was 'trying to avoid pain medication and short-term fixes' but had been using heat packs and hot baths to deal with the pain.

Earlier this week, Tahlia said on Instagram that she thought she had spondylitis, which could have been linked to her Crohn's disease.

Tahlia, who is engaged to rugby league player Tom Burgess, shared a picture of herself looking downcast on the couch and said she was suffering incredible pain.

'My GP is currently investigating spondylitis (inflammatory arthritis) in my lower back, which is also known to be associated with Crohn's disease,' she wrote.

'Just because you can't see an injury or illness doesn't mean it's not there or that people aren't struggling daily,' she added.

Tahlia said she'd been going to the gym and doing Pilates to help with the pain, as well as taking regular baths.

'I have good days and bad and today is a bad one,' she wrote. 'People see a very small snippet of our lives so wanted to share one part of what we juggle.'

In the past, Tahlia has been open about her battle with Crohn's disease, an inflammatory bowel disease.

In March last year, she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after an attack of the 'silent but painful' disease.

Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the lining of the digestive tract.

It can cause abdominal pain, diarrhoea and anaemia, as well as life-threatening complications.

Speaking to Body + Soul in 2017, Tahlia described her battle with the disease.

'I'm pretty honest and this is something I wouldn't hide. Tom was really understanding,' she said.

'He's been a good support through and through from the beginning - he's always encouraging me. He's amazing.'

The Miss Universe Australia 2018 finalist also revealed she has to avoid certain foods to avoid flare-ups.
