Former bookkeeper at Oakley firm must pay back $2 million, serve prison time

A Miami Township, Ohio, woman who pleaded guilty to the theft of millions from her former employer was sentenced to prison Monday in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas.
Managers at Hadronics, Inc. discovered more than a million was missing in June 2020, two days after Elizabeth Fissel and five other workers were let go at the Oakley Company, according to an Enquirer story.
Hadronics specializes 15 different areas including metal grinding and coating, machine services, and hydraulics, according to the company's website.
The 46-year-old former bookkeeper was sentenced to eight years in prison with the requirement she pay back $2 million, according to a report from Enquirer Media partner Fox19.
Court records stated Fissel stole from Hadronics by taking cash and writing company checks to herself.
She pleaded guilty on June 23, 2021, to a theft charge. The two charges of tampering with evidence she was indicted of originally have been dismissed, according to court records.
