Chennai, Aug 24 (UNI) Hours after BJP State Secretary KT Raghavan
resigned from the party following sleazy sting operation, party State Unit
Chief K Annamalai ordered a probe into the charges and promised action
if charges are proved.
In a two-age statement posted in his twitter handle, he said the party has
formed a probe committee headed by state secretary Ms Malarkodi.
"We are taking this allegations very seriously and an enquiry commission
headed by Ms Malarkodi will be formed and this team will study the truth
behind the allegations and will initiate appropriate action against those
persons who are proven as accused", he said.
The ‘sting operation’ purportedly showing Raghavan in a sleazy video call
with a woman party member, was recorded and uploaded on YouTube by
party member and YouTuber Madhan Ravichandran today morning.
The authenticity of the YouTube video that was released by Madhan
Ravichandran leading to the resignation of Mr Raghavan, will be verified
and a probe will be conducted for further necessary action, he said.
Mr Annamalai said "when he spoke with Mr Raghavan on this issue, he
told me that he is serving this party for more than 30 years with integrity
and the allegations is made against him with the use of high-end
technologies in the intention of defaming his stature and that of the party
and said he will face this issue legally.
Further he said that in the intention of preserving the sanctity of the party
and his role, he will resign from his party designation. "I accepted the
resignation of Mr Raghavan', the BJP Chief said.
He further said that "since Madan Ravichandran claims in his video that
video records of more such people will be released in the social media,
this makes me to question to intention behind his activities and this act
of him is purely unacceptable".
Stating that women office-bearers in BJP, which is built on very strong
traditions and culture, are treated with utmost care, respect and love,
Mr Annamalai said there are treated with dignity and they play an active
role in taking the party and its ideology to every single person.
