Ludhiana: 100th annual prize distribution function of SCD Government College, Ludhiana, was organised at 11 am in the Sahir Auditorium today. The chief guest was councillor Mamta Ashu. Principal Gurpreet Kaur informed that Jagdev Singh Olympian Award for Excellence in Sports was bestowed upon Kanwar Gurbaaz Singh for his achievements in basketball. Sahir Order of Merit was bestowed upon six students for exceptional achievements in co-curricular activities. The students are Tejas, Amarjeet Chawdhury, Akshay, Gurtejinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Manjinder Singh. Roll of Honour (Academics) for the session 2019 -20 was conferred upon 14 students for clinching the first three positions in the university. Roll of Honour for Sports was conferred upon seven students. Roll of Honour for NCC was conferred upon six students. Ten students were awarded Roll of Honour for cultural activities. Special awards were also given to 15 students. Merit certificates were given to 31 students. In addition members of the students' council, college magazine student editors were also honoured. The high point of the function was student of the year 2019- 20 which was bestowed upon Tejas while the student of the year 2020- 21 was Udit Saggar.

CT AWS Academy

School of Engineering at CT University has started training for the first batch of AWS Academy Cloud Foundations. More than 125 students from BTech CSE, BCA, MCA and diploma have registered for the AWS cloud foundation and took the first step towards their career in cloud technologies. Munish Kaushal, director IT and AWS accredited educator said, “This is intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing and support.” The school organised a cleanliness drive in which students participated with enthusiasm.

Investiture ceremony

Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana, invested its newly appointed Junior House and Senior House council with prefectorial responsibilities at Mittal auditorium. The investiture ceremony was held with great zeal and dignity. The beaming faces of the office-bearers bore testimony to the fact that each of the well deserving students is committed to the responsibilities bestowed. Sat Paul Mittal School has always set the standards high. The selection process is an example in itself. All office-bearers were selected in a very democratic manner and priority was given to students being all-rounder, outstanding in academics and co-curricular activities. Meritorious, brilliant and accountable children were appointed after a rigorous selection process.
