Auto driver, 2 others held for gang rape in Palam Vihar

Gurgaon: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped in Palam Vihar on Saturday evening, the police said on Monday.
A police officer said the crime took place when the woman was returning home in a shared auto after meeting her friend. Two of the accused men have been arrested.
Initially, the auto had three passengers but one of them deboarded the vehicle, leaving the survivor with a man named Arif and the driver. The woman alleged that Arif started misbehaving with her when the driver took them to a vacant plot near Hanuman Mandir on Old Delhi-Gurgaon road. She told the police that Arif then called his friend — Manoj — and the three men took turns to rape her.
An FIR has been filed by the Palam Vihar police under sections 323 (for voluntarily causing hurt) and 376-D (gang rape) of IPC.
The auto driver and Manoj have been arrested till now. However, the police said efforts on to nab Arif.
“Probe is under way,” the SHO said.
