Port Blair, Aug 24 (UNI) People, including tourists visiting North and Middle Andaman District with valid RTPCR or RAT negative test reports and with both doses of vaccine will be exempted from mandatory 03 days home quarantine.
In an order issued by Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan the District Magistrate, North and Middle Andaman on Monday, it was mentioned that all inbound passengers from the mainland coming to North & Middle Andaman district with valid RTPCR negative (-ve) test report on arrival and inter-island passengers with valid RAT negative (-ve) test report and having been administered both the doses of COVID vaccine shall be exempted from mandatory 03 days home quarantine.
Earlier there was a huge demand from people of North and Middle Andaman and Tourism Sector to lift the 3-day quarantine rule.
The Up-Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad, Mr. R Alager Swami had earlier urged the Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman to remove this 3-day quarantine rule in N & M Andaman District, which was introduced during the second wave of COVID-19.
It is believed that this decision will bring some relief for Tourism Stakeholders of North and Middle Andaman, as the Tourism Season of 2021 in Andaman is all set to begin by September end.
On 3rd August 2021 the Andaman and Nicobar Administration had reopened all Tourism activities in South Andaman and North Middle Andaman District.
