JAMMU: Search operations for the second pilot and wreckage following the chopper crash at Ranjit
Sagar Dam on August 3 are on in full swing, army spokesperson said on Monday.
Special forces commandos along with the Indian
Navy are carrying out continuous diving in the area. A large floating platform has been created from where all diving operations are being launched. “Various agencies like NDRF, civilian experts and Dam authorities have also been incorporated in the search operations. The
Indian Navy has been constantly upscaling and upgrading the equipment being used for this search and salvage operation,” defence spokesperson, Jammu, Lt. Col. Devender Anand said.
Earlier on August 15, the joint rescue and search teams of the Army, Navy,
Submarine Rescue Unit, NDRF and police had traced the body of one of the missing pilots, Lt. Col. AS
Baath from a depth of 75.9 m from the Ranjit
Sagar Lake.
