Prayagraj: Over 15,000 administered jabs in Sangam city

PRAYAGRAJ: As many as 15,028 recipients from all age groups were administered the Covid-19 vaccine in Sangam city on Monday by the health department. Officials said that the Prayagraj district is inching closer to achieve 37 per cent recipients of the overall targeted recipients in the district.
District Immunization officer and additional chief medical officer (ACMO) Dr Teerath Lal told TOI that the department aimed to cover the maximum number of recipients in rural and urban areas and vaccination is being carried out at more than 45 sites.
On Monday, as many as 15,028 recipients in the Prayagraj district had taken jabs which included 10,291 taking their first dose and 4,737 getting the second dose administered.
With this, as many as 15,83,363 jabs have been administered to recipients of all age groups till August 23 including 12,59,671 first doses and 3,23,692 of the second dose. Moreover, officials of the district health department have set a target of administering the Covid vaccine to around 42.59 lakh people, including 28 lakh recipients aged between 18- 44 age group and 12.87 lakh above 45 years of age.
