Ludhiana: An unidentified man lost his life after he was hit by a vehicle near the Jassian Road turn on the NH-44 on Sunday. A case under Section 304-A of the IPC has been registered at the Salem Tabri police station here against the driver of the unidentified vehicle. TNS

Elderly succumbs to his injuries

Ludhiana: A day after getting critically injured in a road accident, a 62-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kamboj of Phase 1, Dugri. Sakshi Kamboj, daughter of the victim, alleged that she along with her father were going to a hospital when a speeding car hit their Honda Activa scooter at an intersection in Phase 2, Dugri, on Saturday. Sakshi, who was also injured, said her critically injured father was rushed to Deep Hospital where he died on Sunday. She is undergoing treatment at Shiv Memorial Hospital. A case under Sections 279, 304-A, 337, 338 and 427 of the IPC has been registered against the accused, Vinod Kumar, of Bathinda. TNS
