She said, “The tree plantation has been done to preserve and protect the Flora and fauna of the state. WCCM provides a platform for the youth to submit their works and contribute. According to my opinion, reading is important to become a good writer, the youth are also reading as they are submitting contents to WCCM. ‘A child who read is a child who thinks.’”

She also expressed her views that in order to become a vigilant citizen, reading is very important and to understand what the Government is doing. The day is going to be a memorable day. She thanked Marjing Mayanglambam for doing a lot of hard work and said she became hardworking too after meeting him. She helped the Executive members too.

Founder Chairman, Marjing Mayanglambam spoke. He addressed the dignitaries, elders, friends, and all the guests. He thanked the sponsors and media partners. “WCCM was formed on 26th May, 2019 with co-founder Taniya Khangembam, Saka Mashangva and other members namely Jolly, Nirva, Meghabarna, with the aim to find an answer on how a youth can participate in Parliament, Politics and youth governance. Because of Covid-19 and further studies, WCCM meet was discontinued. WCCM came to life again on May 18, 2021 after discussing with Taniya Khangembam and several members joined the organisation.

Initially, WCCM was interested only in Youth politics but presently, focus is also given to promote and preserve literature, media, arts, artforms. Yesterday, 13th edition of WCCM e – magazine was also released. Our plan is to participate in social activism as a neutral platform to fight against discrimination, inequality and work against negative extremity in any fields, and to conduct anti-social element eradication as a responsible youth.

We are doing our best, we have been doing our best and we will be doing our best in the future. I would like to thank our WCCM members for your time, hardwork and to fight for the cause, which is for the betterment of the society. WCCM’s future is a long term plan with various projects, River conservation, Tree plantation etc . Thawai Hou is a developing space for performing arts and we have decided to have the plantation here so that we live close to greenery and not just pucca buildings surrounded by walls.”
