The Ratnagiri court has denied Union minister Narayan Rane's anticipatory bail application. The Union minister is now facing arrest for his statement about slapping CM Uddhav. After several FIRs were filed against him, a police squad is on its way to arrest him. The squad would arrive in Chiplun in few hours, according to Police Commissioner Deepak Pandey. He is likely to file a petition with the Bombay High Court to get multiple FIRs quashed.

The Ratnagiri court has denied Union minister Narayan Rane's anticipatory bail application. The Union minister is now facing arrest for his statement about slapping cm Uddhav. The bjp has distanced itself from Rane's comments about slapping uddhav thackeray over the latter's alleged ignorance of India's independence year. Rane should have shown moderation when commenting against the chief minister, according to Patil. "I will not defend Rane's statements, but I will not express sorrow," said bjp President Chandrakant Patil.

Workers from the Shiv Sena's youth wing and bjp supporters fought outside Narayan Rane's home in Mumbai. Stones were thrown from both sides, and police used canes to disperse the demonstrators. shiv sena workers sat outside Rane's home on Juhu tara Road in Santacruz (West), and supporters from both parties yelled slogans at one other. shiv sena members also ripped up posters and banners in the Konkan towns of Rajapur, Lanja, and Ratnagiri, where Narayan Rane's procession is scheduled to pass through.
Jayant Patil, the maharashtra NCP president, has come out in favour of the shiv sena in their fight against Narayan Rane.
