    Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.14% in an upbeat market

    The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.14 per cent down at 9745.75.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:19AM (IST) on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

    Bharat Forge (up 1.35 per cent), MRF (up 0.38 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.3 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.25 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    TIINDIA (down 1.6 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.73 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 0.7 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.61 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Auto index was down 0.14 per cent at 9745.75 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.85 points at 16541.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 132.75 points at 55688.54.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, NALCO, Zomato Ltd., SAIL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of BLS Int. Services, S & S Power Switch, Carborundum Uni, Meghmani Finechem Ltd. and Andhra Cements hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while AKG Exim Ltd., Silly Monks Entertai, Madhav Copper, Nxtdigital and KPI Global Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
