Datacom's team of cybersecurity experts will use insights obtained from Splunk's cloud-based analytics-driven security information and event management (SIEM) platform to help organisations learn from adversaries' behaviours to mitigate and reduce future risks, according to the company.
Datacom also offers Splunk SOAR, a security, orchestration, automation and response platform to automate security tasks, accelerate response times, thus enhancing security efficiency and productivity.
"Cyber-attacks come in waves, and it is the orchestration that allows us to get ahead of things and help keep New Zealand and Australia cyber-secure," said Datacom general manager cybersecurity services Mark Micklefield.
"Datacom's deep cybersecurity expertise, backed by our breadth of operational knowledge, allows us to leverage Splunk technology to deliver customer value. We can now service use cases beyond just cyber-security as a result.
"By deploying Splunk's cybersecurity capabilities we can combine our services to the cloud, networks, software engineering and more, and improve customer engagement and experience."
The technology can be applied to other aspects of the environment, such as application performance management.
"Our customers have peace of mind knowing they are compliant to best practice standards from the outset," said Micklefield.
Splunk ANZ group vice president Simon Eid said "This partnership is a testament to the trust that Datacom has in Splunk's capabilities and technologies.
"We are pleased to work with Datacom to further strengthen their cybersecurity offerings and empower customers to proactively and efficiently mitigate cyberthreats."
