Govt Appoints Madnesh Kumar Mishra As Joint Secretary In Ministry of Culture

In the order, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved appointments, premature repatriations of many of the officers at the Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary equivalent level.

Madnesh Kumar Mishra, the Indian Revenue Service, (IRS) Income Tax) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), on Monday. 

Mishra, IRS (IT) from 1990-batch is appointed for a combined tenure of seven years upto 31 May 2023 from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders. 

The official notification stated, "Appointment of Madnesh Kumar Mishra, IRS (IT) (1990) as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a combined tenure of seven years upto 31/05/2023 from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier vice Ms. Nirupama Kotru, IRS (IT:1992)."

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) which is headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the appointment of Mishra along with 44 others, as per the order by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet also appointed Priya Ranjan, Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of the Rajasthan Cadre from the 1998 batch as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Apart from that, Abhay Singh, a 2004 IAS batch of the Bihar cadre, and Vijaya Lakshmi Nadendla, lAS (BH:1995) as Joint Secretary Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, for a tenure of five years have been appointed, the official notification added.
