Tanzania expects TZS 5 tln from mobile money tax in first five years

The Tanzania government seeks to collect TZS 5 trillion in mobile money tax over the next five years, Ecofin reported. National Assembly Speaker Job Ndugai said the resources will fund social services. Ndugai said the newly-introduced levy that was endorsed during the previous parliamentary budget session is crucial in generating revenues for rural development and improvement of infrastructures in the education sector.
