Ahmedabad: Using adhesive instead of condom killed youth?

AHMEDABAD: Using a strong epoxy adhesive to seal his private parts to ensure protection during intercourse may have complicated a Fatehwadi youth’s health condition leading to his death, said senior police officers probing the mysterious death of 25-year-old Salman Mirza, a resident of Fatehwadi area.

“Several witnesses said that Mirza along with his former fiancée, both of whom were addicted to drugs, had gone to a hotel in Juhapura. There, they applied an epoxy adhesive on his private parts as they were not carrying any protection,” said a senior Ahmedabad city police officer.
The two had reportedly gone to the hotel with another woman in an autorickshaw on June 22. “We checked CCTV footage and found Mirza and his girlfriend entering the hotel. He was found unconscious the next day,” said the officer.
Police officers said that the duo had taken some drug following which they decided to have sex. “Since they did not have any protection, they decided to apply the adhesive on his private parts to ensure that she does not get pregnant. They were carrying the adhesive as they occasionally used it with whitener to inhale the mixture for a kick,” said the officer.
The officer said that using the adhesive worsened Mirza’s health condition and he died of complications including multiple organ failure.
DCP (Zone-7) Premsukh Delu, said that Mirza’s family members have alleged that the woman, who accompanied him to the hotel, had applied the adhesive to his private parts. “We are waiting for the report on the deceased’s viscera sample that has been sent for forensic examination,” said Delu.
Mirza was the only earning member of his family which comprised his elderly parents and two sisters.
His kin, Sayrabanu Mirza, applied to file a complaint with Vejalpur police on June 25.After Mirza’s death, police filed a complaint of accidental death and began an investigation.
Mirza was lying unconscious in the shrubs near Amber Tower on June 23. His acquaintance, Firoz Shaikh, found him and brought him home. Mirza’s condition deteriorated and he was taken to Sola Civil Hospital where he died. According to Mirza’s family, his friends have claimed that he had taken some drug which had affected his health.
