Bicholim school children make rakhis for Indian soldiers

Sankhali: About 250 rakhis made by Keshav Seva Sadhana’s Narayan Zantye Special Children School, Bicholim are being sent to Indian soldiers.

A function was organised by Keshav Seva Sadhana in an initiative for soldiers on Saturday on the eve of Raksha Bandhan under the initiative ‘Ek Rakhi Sainikaa Sathi’.

School president Sagar Shetye, headmistress Sanjana Prabhudesai, Premanand Naik, Omkar Kelkar etc were present on the occasion.

At this time, teachers of the school tied rakhis to army personnel Sandesh Pal as well as journalists.

Sagar Shetye said that this initiative is being carried out by Chaitanya Pratishthan with the inspiration of Rajendra Arlekar (current Governor of Himachal Pradesh) to protect the Indian soldiers and guard them against the enemies.

“Our special children made about one thousand rakhis at home, many of which were sold and 250 rakhis were handed over to the soldiers,” said school principal Sanjana Prabhudesai.

At this time, rakhis were handed over to Sandesh Pal to be passed on to soldiers. The initiative was welcomed by Pal.
