Calangute eye camp draws good response

Calangute: More than 800 villagers mostly senior citizens took advantage of the eye camp organised by Calangute panch Sudesh Mayenkar on Sunday and considering the heavy rush, the camp has been extended for another day at Calangute Association in Calangute.

When questioned the man behind the eye camp Sudesh Mayenkar, who is Calangute panch of Naikawaddo, said that mostly people advertise on social media about medical camps and mostly senior citizens do not read them as such they miss the opportunity to take advantage adding, “I have visited every house in Calangute and explained them of the camp as such today I got more than 400 senior citizens for the camp. Due to heavy rush, we could not even take lunch break as more than 150 people registered their names and still more were coming till the closing time I decided to have the camp for another day.”

There were 8 eye specialist doctors to check people’s eyesight in spite of this all people could not be covered, said the doctors of Mukta Opticians, which has many branches in Goa.
