Governments are very cautious in view of the third wave of corona and they know that vaccination is the only way to stop corona. At the same time, the Tamil Nadu government has taken a historic decision on Saturday. Now, for those who have not been able to get the vaccine or those who have to get it, the around-the-clock vaccination campaign will be conducted in government colleges and hospitals in the state from next week.
Medical and Family Welfare Minister Subramanian said that round-the-clock vaccines would be made available in the state. With this people will be able to take their dose of vaccine anywhere and anytime. Subramaniam said that this service will be made available in all government hospitals in 37 districts from Monday.
The service will be provided at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar, Stanley Medical College, and Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in Chennai from Monday.
It further added that on the same day, all medical college hospitals were expanded round the clock and also in places like Mayiladuthurai and Perambalur, which do not have medical colleges. The government will also advertise for a 24-hour vaccination schedule, advising the public to use the service.
Subramanian said that arrangements for vaccination have also been made at various tourist and pilgrimage sites. In this regard, the district administration has been advised to expedite the vaccination process. In the popular tourist town of Kodaikanal, all people were vaccinated, while in Palani it was 98 percent.
In view of the possibility of a third wave in the country, the Center is trying to speed up the pace of vaccination and expand its coverage across the country. Apart from this, the new phase of nationwide corona vaccination has started on June 21.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced giving the free vaccine to all the people in the country from June 21.
