Mumbai city on Sunday reported 294 new Covid-19 cases, 240 recoveries, and one death. The active cases now stand at 2,877. While the recovery rate is 97 per cent, the doubling rate is 2,030 days. Thane: List of Covid-19 vaccination centres administering Covaxin, Covishield on Monday

The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) will conduct the Covid-19 vaccination drive across 62 centres in the city on Monday. Both the doses of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines will be available for beneficiaries above 18 years of age. The centres will operate between 10 am and 4 pm. Check out the list here

BMC chief orders probe into revenue loss owing to non-recovery of fire service fees

After a nudge from Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the BMC has ordered a probe into the revenue loss caused by the fire brigade’s failure to recover fire service fees from builders and annual fees from residents since 2014 . Trio get bail in harassment case

A Thane court granted anticipatory bail to three accused in a harassment case filed by a woman against her ‘husband’, ‘father-in-law’ and another female family friend. Man who attempted suicide outside Mantralaya dies during treatment

A 48-year-old man who tried to kill himself outside the Maharashtra secretariat here by consuming some poisonous substance died during treatment at a hospital, police said on Sunday.A police official said the deceased was identified as Subhash Jadhav, a resident of Ambegaon in the Pune district.Jadhav had come to meet officials at the Mantralaya in south Mumbai on Friday in connection with a land dispute case but was not allowed inside as the entry is restricted due to the COVID-19 norms, he said.Jadhav then tried to kill himself by consuming some pesticide outside the front gate of the Mantralaya.

25,000 doses for Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation via CSR

Amidst short supply of vaccines, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has received help from a private bank, which will carry out a free mass immunisation drive. The NMMC approved a proposal from Citibank a few days ago to supply 25,000 free doses as part of its CSR activity. Citibank has roped in Jaslok Hospital, which will supply the Covishield vaccines meant for both first and second doses.

Maharashtra administers a record 11.04 lakh doses in one day

The record-breaking 11.04 lakh doses administered in the vaccination drive against Covid-19 in the state on Saturday pushed the month’s total to 82 lakh doses. The day saw the state make up 21.14% of all vaccine doses that were administered in the country. Full report here

Commuters agitated over double-jab rule, say up to 50% essential workers partially vaxxed

Ordinary local train commuters are miffed at the authorities for what they have termed as a “disparity” between them and essential category workers. While the average commuter must comply with double vaccination, passenger activists point to the fact that just about 50% of essential workers in Thane and 72% in Mumbai have been fully vaccinated. Single Covid death in Mumbai for first time since March 2020
