Alert BSF repulsed 'flying object' seen in Arnia sector, back to Pakistan side

JAMMU: Alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops fired and repulsed a flying object along the International Border (IB) in the Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said, "Border Security Force personnel opened fire at a flying object that was spotted along the International Border in Arnia sector of Jammu district on Monday."
"At about 0530 hours, a blinking red and yellow light in the sky was observed by our forward troops in the Arnia sector near the IB," an official said.
He said that alert troops opened fire at the flying object following which it went towards the Pakistan side.
Searches are being conducted in the area alongwith with the help of police. Following the twin drone attacks in Jammu on June 27 at Jammu Air base, the authorities have banned the sale, storage, or possession of drones in as many as six districts of Jammu and Kashmir and this ban also extends to other unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the order, the move will help to avoid any confusion in the current situation to secure aerial spaces near vital installations and highly populated areas.
“Any drone operating in the district needs to be registered. The owner of the drone and operator thereof shall be liable for all damages incurred, to person or property, due to mishandling or malfunctioning of drone or otherwise,” the order stated
Recent sightings of Drones/flying objects movements in Jammu since June 27
June 27, 2021: Two Air Force personnel were injured in two low-intensity blasts at the Air Force base of Jammu airport damaging the roof of a building and minor injuries to two air force personnel . The two blasts took off in a span of five minutes.
June 29, 2021: Security forces spotted drones at Kunjawani, Sunjwan and Kaluchak near Sunjwan military station in Jammu district. During the midnight of June 29-30, three drones were spotted separately.
June 30, 2021: Security forces again noticed a suspected drone activity in Pargwal area of Akhnoor along the international border in Jammu district.
July 2, 2021: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel spotted and opened fire on a Pakistani drone (quadcopter) near border post near International Border (IB) in Arnia sector of Jammu.
July 3, 2021: A drone was spotted in an area with military installations in Samba district.
July 14, 2021: : A drone was spotted and neutralized by security forces with the help of anti-radar technology installed at Jammu Indian Air Force Station in Jammu district.
July 15, 2021: Four drones were spotted in military installations and civilian areas in Palanwala sector of Jammu district, Ramgarh sector near International Border (IB) in Samba district and Hiranagar sector with IB in Kathua district.
July 21, 2021: A drone was seen hovering near the Indian Air Force Station at Satwari in Jammu district .
July 23, 2021: Locals claimed that they spotted two drones in Birpur in Bari Brahmin area of Samba district and Palli Mor area of Kathua district.
July 24, 2021: Police spotted and shot down a hexacopter carrying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) of more than five kilograms with a timer at Kanachak in Akhnoor sector of Jammu district.
July 29, 2021: Three drones were spotted at three different locations in Samba district- a drone was spotted in Chilari Forward village on which Border Security Force (BSF) personnel opened fire after which it returned to Pakistan.
Another drone was spotted in Kaulpur village of Ghagwal block while the third was spotted at a security establishment in Bari Brahmin.
July 31, 2021: Two drones were spotted in Chichwal and Ghagwal areas of Samba district which later disappeared.
August 1, 2021: Four drones were seen flying on Bari Brahmana, Birpur and Bishnah Road under the border of Bari Brahmana police station in Samba district.
On Aug 2, ,2021: Suspected drone movements were again noticed in Jammu and Samba region on Sunday night raising alerts at 4 different locations- the drones were seen in Badi Brahmana and Birpur in Samba and Bisnah of Samba. The drones were seen in Samba between 8 and 9 pm while another UAV activity was witnessed at about 9.50 pm in Domana area of Jammu district.
