Relief items and AYUSH medicines distributed

In a bid to help the people stay protected from the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic and to contain its further spread, many continue to distribute Covid relief items and medicines widely.
COVID-19 Task Force of Ward No 9, Keishamthong AC distributed face masks, ORS and drinking water to daily wage labourers and rickshaw drivers near Maharani Bridge and to street vendors at Keishamthong Bazar, said a statement by the Task Force.
The Covid relief items were also distributed at Children Home at Tera Bazar, added the statement.
In continuation of its philanthropic activities of extending help to people amid the difficult situation of COVID-19, Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) in association with WV India, Lamboikhongnangkhong distributed study materials to more than 30 children at Emoinu Shanglen today.
Also, CCSK in association with Directorate of AYUSH handed AYUSH medicines to Ima Thougal Lup at Lamboikhongnangkhong to help in keeping the people healthy and to boost their immune and also provided toothpaste, toothbrush, soaps and nail cutter, said a press release by CCSK.
All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) in association with different organisations of the State have been carrying out philanthropic activities and have been helping the people worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Continuing such activities, AMUCO distributed 5kgs of rice each to selected underprivileged and needy households at Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts yesterday.
The rice were distributed to around 143 (one hundred and forty three) households at Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Kongba Uchekon Khunou, Uchekon Takhok Mapal, Top Khongnangkhong Mamang and Maning and at Longa Koireng, said a press release by AMUCO.
Till date, edible items have been distributed to 7,166 (seven thousand one hundred and sixty six) selected households across the State by AMUCO in association with like minded organisations.
Advisor of AMUCO, R Yangsosong Koireng, president Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, vice president Koijam Helen and finance secretary (in-charge), Kshetrimayum Rajen Meetei attended in today's distribution programme.
Stating that one of the adverse effects of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic is the issue of food crisis which is experienced by the poor and needy households, AMUCO earnestly appealed to the State Government and well wishers to help in solving the issue and to ensure that food is provided to all.
The Public Club of Khurai Top Khongnangmakhong in a statement lauded the initiative of AMUCO of providing edible items to the needy amid the trying times of COVID-19 pandemic and wished them success in all the future endeavours.
