    Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.47%

    The Nifty Auto index closed 1.47 per cent down at 9759.15.

    Mazhar Mohammad of Chartviewindia.in said technical indicators are turning mixed as the weekly MACD chart has generated a 'buy' signal, giving an edge to the bulls.
    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.

    Shares of TIINDIA (up 1.98 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 1.95 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Bharat Forge (down 4.41 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 2.51 per cent), MRF (down 2.45 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 2.4 per cent) and Eicher Motors (down 2.22 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Auto index closed 1.47 per cent down at 9759.15.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 45.95 points at 16496.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 226.47 points at 55555.79.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.

    Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Zomato Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of BLS Int. Services, Arvind Fashions, Steel Exchange, Stampede Cap and Mask Investments hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ujjivan Financial, PTC Financial, Windlas Biotech Ltd., Vertoz Advertising and Biocon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
