Duraimurugan completes 50 yrs in TN Assembly, CM, leaders hail, House passes resolution

Chennai, Aug 23 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Assembly today passed a resolution
hailing and appreciating senior DMK leader and Water Resources Minister
Duraimurugan for completing 50 years in the House.
To mark this historic occasion, the House took up the demand for Water
Resources department on the opening day of the demand for grants for
various departments.
Taking the lead, DMK President and Chief Minister Stalin, Deputy leader
of he Opposition O.Panneerselvam of AIADMK and floor leaders of various
parties felicitiated Mr Duraimurugan on the occasion hailing the
achievements and the services rendered by the Leader of the House in his
50 year long history as member of the House.
In his address, Mr Stalin praised Duraimurugan for his great support to
the DMK party and the government.
"Duraimurugan is the one who can make the legislators laugh and at the
same time can make you cry", he said.
Stating that Duraimurugan is the close associate of former DMK Chief
Minister late M Karunanidhi, he said both of them will be talking for
hours together and it would be enviable to see them talking.
Replying to felicitations, Mr Duraimurugan said he was overwhelmed with
emotion when the Chief minister spoke.
“I will be indebted to Chief Minister MK Stalin for the rest of my life.
I do not think the Chief Minister will have such affection for me", he
said.
