India Yamaha Motor Private Limited has announced the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP inspired edition of the Yamaha MT-15 at ₹ 1,47,900 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The MT-15 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition only gets cosmetic updates, featuring Yamaha Moto GP branding on the tank shrouds, the fuel tank and side panels. Mechanically, there are no changes to the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition of the MT-15, and it continues to be powered by the same 155 cc single-cylinder engine shared with the Yamaha YZF-R15 with variable valve actuation (VVA).

Yamaha MT-15 Customisation Options

The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition of the Yamaha MT-15 gets the same 155 cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC, four-valve engine with a six-speed transmission, paired with a slip and assist clutch. The engine makes 18.2 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 13.9 Nm of peak torque at 8,500 rpm. The MT-15 also continues to come with telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear, while braking duties are handled by a 282 mm disc up front and a 220 mm disc at the rear, with single-channel ABS. While the rear wheel comes with a 140/70 section tyre, up front there's a 100 mm section tyre.

The Yamaha MT-15 also shares the same Deltabox frame and other cycle parts with the R15. The bike also comes with twin-LED headlamps, a single-piece seat, LED tail-lamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Yamaha MT-15 has a kerb weight of 138 kg, and features a negative LCD instrument console. India Yamaha is reportedly working on an updated version of the full-faired Yamaha YZF-R15, so after that's launched, an updated MT-15 with minor changes is also expected, but it's still some time away, possibly early next year.
