Airtel Africa gets first USD 150 mln from QIA in mobile money deal

Airtel Africa announced it has concluded the first closing of the minority investment in Airtel's Africa mobile money business with Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), through its affiliate, Qatar Holding. With the conditions for first closing met, QIA has invested USD 150 million in a secondary purchase of shares in the unit from a subsidiary of Airtel Africa.
