Uttar Pradesh: Firm dupes man of Rs 16 lakh in name of Purvanchal e-way

LUCKNOW: A man was duped of Rs 16 lakh by a private firm in lieu of engaging him on the pretext of construction work of Purvanchal Expressway.
The complainant, Anil Kumar Nishad of Bahraich, is a supplier of machinery and vehicles and owns a small company. The accused, Ashish Kumar Pandey, Sant Kumar Sahu and Nazim, met Nishad posing as owners and other executives of a company.
In October 2019, Nishad signed a work agreement of Rs 2.8 crore under Purvanchal Expressway Package III, in Sultanpur with the accused persons.
He worked for two months and had to be paid Rs 26.88 lakh but was given Rs 10.24 lakh only. "When I insisted for payment, they thrashed me and threatened to kill me," he said. An FIR has been lodged.
