Cincinnati Masters Final: Breathtaking Barty wins Cincinnati Masters, defeats Jil Teichmann in straight sets – World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty continues her hot streak after defeating Swiss Jil Teichmann in the final of the Cincinnati Masters. This is her 5th title of the year after the Australian won the 2021 Wimbledon Championships a few months ago. She defeated Teichmann in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 to clinch the Cincinnati Masters title.

The match was sealed 3-3 in the first set but Barty stood firm and won 9 of the next 10 games to add another trophy to her illustrious career. However, there was no denying that Teichmann did really well to reach the final.

This victory for Barty comes after she won the bronze in Tokyo Olympics. The 25-year-old performer really well in Cincinnati Masters and did not drop a single set. She will now head into the US Open later this month as the hot favourite to scoop up her 3rd major title.

Barty defeated former British No. 1 Heather Watson in straight sets in the Round of 32. She then went onto beat the Belarusian Victoria Azarenka in the Round of 16. She continued her red-hot form against Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejcikova by defeating her 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.

She faced a tough test in front of her in the semifinals as she took on the former No. 1 and the winner of 3 Grand Slam titles Angelique Kerber, but she swifted past her 6-2, 7-5.

While Barty has never made it past the fourth round of a US Open, she is in terrific form and will be hoping for a career-best performance at Flushing Meadows. She leads the WTA Tour with 40 wins this season.
