LegitFit, a Cork-based fitness software firm founded in 2019, has announced it has acquired GoFyt, a Belfast-based fitness marketplace company.

LegitFit announced the acquisition as it prepares to present at seed accelerator Techstars’ demo day in the US.

LegitFit is a platform that helps fitness entrepreneurs by automating their workflows and reducing cancellations.

Currently operating in 12 countries, the company has recently been backed by Enterprise Ireland and Techstars, with the potential to raise a seed round in future to further its expansion across Europe and North America.

Ryan O’Neill, co-founder and chief executive of LegitFit, said the acquisition would give the company a path to gaining further customers. It will also help with its strategy of moving further into the UK market.

GoFyt allows customers find and book physiotherapists, massage therapists, personal trainers and fitness classes.

Its founder Andrew McCracken said the two companies complemented each other in their outlook.
