Covid-19: Mumbai reports 259 new cases, five deaths

MUMBAI: With cases declining rapidly in Mumbai, as many as 259 persons tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.
With that, the total number of cases in the city has climbed to 7,40,871, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation shared.
The financial capital once again saw a single-digit fatality count on Saturday. Five patients succumbed to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 15,946.
Mumbai's total recoveries surged to 7,19,662 with 281 more persons beating the virus. The recovery rate of the city is pitched at 97 per cent.
At present, 2,825 persons are undergoing treatment for Covid-19 in the metropolis.
The overall growth rate of cases in Mumbai from August 14 to August 20 is just 0.04 per cent, while the doubling rate is 2,023 days, the civic body data mentioned.
While there are no active containment zones left in Mumbai, a total of 24 buildings are still sealed due to Covid-19 cases being reported among the residents.
