KHERONI, Aug 21: An RTI activist Bikram Rongphar has filed an FIR with Jirikindeng police station against the contractor M/s NN Construction and PWD technocrats.
The RTI activist alleged massive corruption in the construction of infrastructure at Koka picnic spot at Koka waterfalls in West Karbi Anglong. The construction was carried out under Asom Darshan at a cost of Rs. 6.4322 crore. The work was started in the month of June in 2020 and completed in the month of March in 2021. However, the roads, parking and other infrastructure collapsed as soon as they were completed.
A case has been registered at Jirikindeng police station against the contractor firm and PWD technocrats executive engineer, Baithalangso Division, Biswajit Som and SO, Kheroni PWD Sub Division (R&B) Budha Rongpi. The case no. is 05/2021, U/s 420/409/34 IPC.
