Gurgaon: The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Friday approved 14 development works to the tune of around Rs 28.57 crore. A majority of these projects included estimates of renovation, beautification of parks and construction of roads among others. Out of these, three projects estimated to cost Rs 6.37 crore were given administrative approval and estimates of other 11 projects, which would cost around Rs 22.2 crore, were approved by a committee headed by mayor Madhu Azad. It is after the administrative approvals of the project that the tender is floated and after that the contractor with lowest bid is shortlisted. The projects along with their estimated cost are again tabled before the committee headed by the mayor for their approval. “We have given approvals to 14 development projects of the city. I have also instructed the officials from the engineering wing to expedite the file clearance process since I am getting complaints from the councillors that their files are kept pending,” said Azad.
