Life attempt on senior official in Etawah jail

Etawah, Aug 21(UNI) A senior jail official here on Saturday escaped a bid on his life at the jail premises when some unidentified criminals shot at him.
SSP Dr Brajesh Kumar Singh said that Etawah District Jail Deputy Jailor S H Jafri was attacked when he was on jail inspection at around 0330 hrs on Saturday.
After firing several rounds the assailants fled under the cover of darkness. However, Jafri escaped unhurt after taking a cover of his official residence in the jail premises.
He has also faced a similar attack nearly two years ago.

Inspector Brijesh, in charge of Civil Lines, said that he had inspected the spot and the matter is being investigated.
SSP Dr Brijesh Kumar Singh inspected the spot and talked to the Deputy Jailor, he said that a case would be registered against the unknown miscreants on the complaint of the Deputy Jailor.
Four police teams have been formed to nab those who have carried out the attack.
