Various IITs have extended a helping hand to the students of violence-hit Afghanistan. Plans have been prepared to provide financial help to Afghan students from admission to visa, fee waiver. The institutes have opened a special window for admission.


Initiatives for special admission in MTech and Ph.D., waiver of tuition fees, getting visas and providing hostels

Apart from this, the institutions are in touch with the Union Home Ministry and the Ministry of External Affairs for visa facilities. Through this, the effort is that the Taliban's restrictions do not affect the education of the talented students there.

Two helplines for admission

Director of IIT Delhi Prof. V Ramgopal Rao informed that the institute has issued two helpline numbers for Afghan students. Help can be sought by calling them. There are 16 Afghani students studying in the institute. If they are stuck in Afghanistan, they will be helped. Apart from this, the window of admission in Ph.D. has been specially opened for the students there. Apart from this, they will also get a hostel facility on the campus.

IIT Madras will provide financial help

IIT Madras says three Afghan students are studying. Of these, two have come under Ph.D. (Afghan Government Scholarship Program) and one under MTech (Study in India) program. All three students are stranded in Afghanistan. The students have sought help from the institute. A huge number of students have applied to the institute. Eight students were selected for the same session in MTech and Ph.D. programs.

He was studying in an online class. Students who meet the rules will be given education, tuition fee reduction, and financial help. If they are not able to come to India then such students will be helped in online studies.

IIT Bombay allows students to return to campus
