Aatmanirbhar Bharat Initiative Is A Great Way To Engage With The World: Piyush Goyal.

India's efforts of channelizing technology towards good and smart governance thus increasing transparency and accountability were highlighted. India has developed a vibrant and dynamic start-up ecosystem, leveraging existing platforms and digital technologies such as Aadhar and UPI payments for ensuring the delivery of critical services to the last mile. Online systems like COWIN and digital vaccination certificates are being cited as success stories across the world today.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles Piyush Goyal on Wednesday, termed the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative as a great way to engage with the world. 


Aatmanirbhar Bharat was not an internal-seeking arrangement but rather was about worldwide intensity and growing the outskirts from a place of strength, said Goyal, during the fifth meeting of industry ministers of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). 


Goyal took to Twitter and wrote, "Chaired the 5th meeting of BRICS Industry Ministers where we adopted the Joint Declaration. Emphasized on greater Intra-BRICS cooperation to foster open, fair and non-discriminatory trade, digital inclusion and expanding the horizon of New Development Bank."

 


The official statement from the ministry said, "India’s efforts of channelizing technology towards good and smart governance thus increasing transparency and accountability, were highlighted. India has developed a vibrant and dynamic start-up ecosystem, leveraging existing platforms and digital technologies such as Aadhar and UPI payments for ensuring the delivery of critical services to the last mile. Online systems like COWIN and digital vaccination certificates are being cited as success stories across the world today." 


The minister also showed his desire to widen the horizon of the New Development Bank (NDB) and all the resources should be used for safeguarding and strengthening social infrastructure, along with the industrial sector promotion. 

 

As per the official statement, all of the participants agreed on the requirement to establish human resources in line with the increasing needs accelerated by the new emerging technology, in order to boost up training and skills development of the related workforce and businesses through workshops, seminars, and exchange programs.


The virtual 5th meet of BRICS Industry Ministers was held under the Chairship of India was attended by Xiao Yaqing Chinese Minister of Industry and IT, Ebrahim Patel, South African Minister of Trade, Industry & Competition, Carlos Da Costa, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economy, Brazil and Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russia and delegates.
