Banks To Remain Closed For 4 Days From Today In These Cities; Check Full List

Bank Holidays August 2021: There are two holidays that will be celebrated by a large majority of states and cities this month

If, you have any important bank-related work, you will have to wait till to get it done as banks are closed for four days in a row in few cities. Although online banking activities will continue to work, and ATM machines will dispense cash.

It should be noted the RBI only came out with 8 official holidays that were divided into state-wise celebrations, religious events and festivals. The other 7 were the usual weekend holidays that banks enjoy in any given calendar month.

Check list:

August 19

Banks in most states will observe a holiday today, 19 August 2021, on account of Muharram. This holiday will be an off for lenders in 17 cities. These cities are Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi and Srinagar.

August 20

Banks will remain shut in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu on account of Onam on 20 August

August 21

Banks will remain shut in Kerala on account of Thiruvonam on 21 August

August 22

22 August is Raksha Bandhan, which happens to fall on Sunday. All banks are closed on Sundays as well as Second and last Saturdays.

Other holidays:

August 23

It’s Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi and banks will be closed in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi

August 28 – Fourth Saturday

August 29 – Sunday

August 30

It’s Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanthi and banks will remain shut in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar and Gangtok

August 31
