19 special session sites for school staff today

Gurgaon: The staffers of schools and universities in the city received Covid vaccine shots at 42 special vaccination sessions on Thursday. The health department’s aim is to vaccinate the staff of all schools in the state by August 31.
A total of 1,174 people got their first jab while 260 received their second dose in these special sessions.
On Friday, a total of 19 dedicated session sites will be set up for the staff of schools and universities in Gurgaon. Each site will have Covishield shots for 50 first-dose recipients and 50 for the second- dose recipients.
Several recipients said that they were waiting for a single- dose vaccine, and thus they delayed taking the shot. “I was waiting for the Moderna vaccine but now I decided to take it as the government has set up dedicated camps for people who are working in schools and colleges,” said Joyti Sharma, a teacher at a senior secondary school in Teekli.
Meanwhile, the district on Friday will have additional 52 government session sites in Gurgaon. Of these, 45 sites will give Covishield doses, while Covaxin will be given at six sites.
