Ghaziabad: Districts across the state, including
Ghaziabad, are yet to upload the details of the procurements made for
Covid-19 despite an order issued by the Union health ministry in June this year.
According to the government’s order, the details of procurement for the amount above Rs 3 lakh need to be maintained and signed by the vendors, contractors, suppliers and procuring agents concerned and countersigned by the state nodal officer under the
Covid package.
Officials revealed that over Rs 5 crore has been spent by Ghaziabad under the Covid-19 emergency response and health system strengthening preparedness package issued by the NHM. Sources said this fund is in addition to the amount issued to the health sources. The maximum amount of Rs 1.1 crore has been spent on hiring temporary medical staff and giving incentives to the community health workers, followed by Rs 44 lakh on diagnostics and transportation of samples. An amount of Rs 45 lakh was spent on house-to-house surveys.
These details were further required to be uploaded on a designated portal of the National Health Mission. Officials said it was important to comply with the World Bank norms for reimbursements. Moreover, procurement of contract value above Rs 18 lakh must be cleared by the World Bank to become eligible for disbursement.
