Share price of Petronet LNG falls as Sensex drops 294.69 points

The share price of Ltd. dropped 0.22 per cent to Rs 223.2 at 10:25AM (IST) in Friday's trade. The stock has hit a high of Rs 225.5 and low of Rs 220.0 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 223.7 in the previous session.

The counter has had a total traded volume of 194963 shares so far with a value of Rs 4.36 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 10.78 and a price-to-book ratio of 2.7.

A higher price-to-earnings ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and reflects the price investors are willing to pay even for no growth in the business.

The scrip declined 10.76 per cent during the past one year, while the 30-share index advanced 46.09 per cent during the same period.

Promoters held 50.0 per cent stake in the company as of 30-Jun-2021, while foreign investors and domestic institutional investors ownership stood at 31.06 per cent and 4.89 per cent, respectively.

Key Financials
The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 8666.47 crore for the quarter ended 30-Jun-2021, up 13.67 per cent from the previous quarter's Rs 7624.47 crore and up 75.01 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 4951.95 crore.

Profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 670.06 crore, up 34.07 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
