A string of Premier League clubs had scouts in the crowd to watch Benfica's Champions League tie with PSV amid growing interest in England under-21 winger Noni Madueke. Teenager Madueke has begun the season in blistering form, scoring five times in seven games and also setting up another goal for PSV. Two of his strikes have helped his Dutch club to the brink of the Champions League group stages and into last night's play off tie at Estadio da Luz, which Benfica edged 2-1.

Premier League champions City are desperate to land Kane, but his hefty price tag of around £150million has proved a stumbling block so far. As a result, they are believed to have weighed up adding Silva into the package. The Athletic claim that chairman Daniel Levy snubbed the proposal, with Silva instead preferring a move to Spain, and super-agent Jorge Mendes has been in Manchester this week in an attempt to solve the dilemma. City splashed out to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in a sensational £100m swoop recently, and Sportsmail has reported how the club believe the only way they can sign Kane is if his price tag is lowered or Spurs take on Silva. While in contact with City to find a resolution for Silva's situation, it has also been reported that Mendes is still pitching the idea of Cristiano Ronaldo joining the club.

Brighton are in talks with Benfica over a £25million swoop for striker Darwin Nunez Seagulls officials are locked in discussions with their Portuguese counterparts with a view to concluding a deal. If Brighton can come to an agreement for Nunez, the Uruguay international will become the club's record signing. The 22-year-old scored 14 goals for Benfica last season and has notched twice for his national team in four appearances.

Watford have further added to their Premier League squad with the season-long loan signing of Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan. The 26-year-old Turkey international has moved to Vicarage Road on a deal which could be made permanent next summer as the Hornets have an option to buy. Tufan has 63 senior international caps to his name and made over 120 appearances for Fenerbahce since joining from Bursaspor in 2015.

Pedro (left) has completed his Roma exit with a shock move to arch-rivals Lazio after being dropped from the squad by Jose Mourinho (right). The forward makes the rare switch after Roma released him for free, according to Gazzetta. His contract with the Giallorossi wasn't set to expire until 2023 but the 34-year-old has agreed a two-year deal worth €2m (£1.7m) a year with Lazio. The exchange is one of convenience both clubs, in particular for Roma who will save considerably in the wake of Pedro's exit.

With Sanchez (centre) in the final year of his Arsenal contract during the 2017-18 campaign, the Gunners were desperate to get something for the Chilean in the winter transfer window after turning down a £60million bid from Manchester City before the start of the season. United and Arsenal were able to agree to a rare straight player-swap deal, which saw long-time Gunners target Mkhitaryan (left) head in the opposite direction. However, the finances involved to bring Sanchez to United left Law (right inset) stunned, while revealing in an interview with The Athletic how Sanchez's agent Mino Raiola (right) 'leveraged the whole transaction'.

Real Madrid are reportedly well on their way to funding a record-breaking move for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe following latest sales to the Premier League. In the last week the Spanish giants have recouped yet more money with the official sale of Raphael Varane to Manchester United, along with an imminent deal to see Martin Odegaard return to Arsenal on a permanent basis. It takes Madrid's transfer fee incomings over the £259million (€300m) mark since the start of last year, and according to Madrid-based daily newspaper Marca this money is being placed straight into a pot to bring Mbappe to LaLiga.

Robert Lewandowski (left) reportedly wants to leave Bayern Munich for a new challenge but could be priced out of a move because the Bundesliga side value him at £100million. Lewandowski, who turns 33 on Saturday, has won 18 trophies since joining Bayern in 2014 and has scored 297 goals in 331 games.  But according to Sky Sports News, the Poland international wants to secure a move to another top European side before reaching the age of 35.

Manchester United are set to make Paul Pogba the highest-paid player at the club with a new five-year contract worth £400,000 per week. Pogba has just one year remaining on his current £290,000-a-week deal and United are 'desperate' to extend his stay at Old Trafford before the transfer window closes. However, the French midfielder is yet to accept United's latest offer - which will see him earn more than David De Gea who is earning £375,000 per week.

Liverpool have begun negotiations to make Mohamed Salah (main) the highest-paid player in the club's history with a new four-year deal, according to reports. The Egyptian winger - widely regarded as one of the most important players in Jurgen Klopp's (inset) squad - is currently on a £200,000-a-week contract that runs until the summer of 2023. Reds sporting director Michael Edwards is currently on a contract extension spree after renewing deals for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.
