Survivor host Jonathan LaPaglia has been spotted in New York with his 16-year-old daughter Tilly, as the latest season of his show, Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn, plays out on television Down Under.   

The pair were seen making their way down swanky Fifth Avenue and holding hands before stopping at a pedestrian crossing. 

Jonathan, 51, who is enjoying freedom in the States while many part of Australia are in harsh lockdown, clutched his daughter's hand tightly while checking to see if it was safe to cross the busy road.

Adelaide-born Jonathan dressed down for their casual outing, sporting a tight-fitting  blue shirt and frayed khaki trousers. 

The star held a mobile phone in his spare hand, and completed his look with square  square spectacles, a sporty watch and sneakers.    

Meanwhile, his teenage daughter showed off her cool sense of style in a white T-shirt, satin leopard-print midi skirt and white sneakers.

Jonathan shares Tilly with his Australian actress wife of over two decades, Ursula Brooks, 46. 

The family currently live in California, but Jonathan regularly travels back to Australia and other parts of the world to film Australian Survivor.

'I was practically held hostage by the news cycle. That's all I was doing all day long,' he told The Daily Telegraph

He later added with a laugh: 'My 16-year-old daughter gave me a lecture [about checking the news too much] a couple times.'

Jonathan's outing comes as Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn continues to air with consistently moderate viewership on Australia's Channel 10. 

On Tuesday night, the program reached number one in the 16-39 demographic and recorded 682,000 metro viewers. 

The series has seen a steady and consistent level of viewership, especially compared to Ten's other primetime entertainment series The Bachelor.  

However, it has paled in comparison to The Voice Australia, which has continued to smash the primetime TV ratings.
