The Qatar national swimming team shone on the first day of the 28th GCC Aquatic Championships at Hamad Aquatic Complex on Thursday. In the morning session alone, Qatari swimmers landed 9 golds out of a possible 12. The four-day championships will see competitions across three sporting disciplines — swimming, diving and water polo. The Qatari teams completed their preparations for the tournament, with the swimming and water polo teams attending two camps in Bulgaria, and the diving team setting up camp in Belarus.
