Pupils want Panjab University campus reopened

Chandigarh, August 18

A protest march was organised by Panjab Uiversity students’ political parties from Vice-Chancellor’s office to his house was regarding the suspension of graduate constituency elections.

Different organisations, Senators, professors, artists and activists from farmer’s protest around Chandigarh joined the protest. Main demands are conducting graduate constituency elections immediately and reopening campus for all students.

Lakha Sidhana in protest

Lakha Sidhana, who is among 17 persons against whom five FIRs were registered by the UT police after a farmers’ protest march in the city in June, also attended the protest. — TNS
