Vidarbha reports Covid-19 deaths after gap of 5 days

Nagpur: Two Covid deaths, one each in Akola and Chandrapur, were reported in Vidarbha on Wednesday. The region reported fatalities due to Covid-19 after a gap of five days. The deceased included an 80-year-old woman admitted three days ago in Akola’s Murtijapur.
The region had recorded two deaths on August 12. In fact, Covid fatalities took place on nine days of this month but not more than two deaths have been reported on any day during the month.
Over 13,000 tests were performed in the region in the last 24 hours. Of the 11 districts, four didn’t report any new case. There was a slight increase in daily cases which were 24 on Wednesday. On Tuesday, the region had reported 18 new cases.
The day’s highest cases were reported from Chandrapur at 7. The daily recoveries too increased to 52.
In Akola district, there were no new cases but 13 patients were declared recovered during the day. Now, the region has 312 patients under treatment.
In Nagpur district, all the four new cases were reported from city while the daily tests in the district reduced to just over 4,000.
Gadchiroli: No Covid death was reported in the district and the toll remained at 745. There were three new cases and five recoveries. The district now has 32 active cases.
Washim: No death or cases were reported but three patients recovered in the district. The toll so far remains at 637 while the caseload is 41693. Active cases have reduced to 14.
Bhandara: The district conducted 498 tests but none of them came positive while three patients got discharge. Now, three patients are under treatment. The toll remains at 1,133.
Gondia: The district didn’t report any Covid case or death but there was one death. Number of patients under treatment is at 4.
Buldhana: The district witnessed just one new Covid case. No death took place. According to official data, the district reported seven recoveries, leaving 29 patients under treatment.
Akola: The district reported 13 recoveries against no new cases and one Covid death. There are 17 patients under treatment.
Chandrapur: There were seven new cases on Wednesday, taking the caseload of 88,588. The day witnessed a death after a gap of nine days, taking the toll to 1,538. With 86,989 patients having recovered so far, there are 61 patients under treatment.
Chandrapur city on Wednesday was left with just eight covid patients; seven of them in isolation. A total of 2.58 lakh tests have been carried out since the inspection of pandemic in the city.
Wardha: A patient was discharged on Wednesday, taking the recoveries to 48,057. Of the 393 reports received in last 24 hours, none came positive. Caseload and toll remained unchanged at 49,386 and 1,325. There four patients under treatment.
Yavatmal: Of the 566 reports received on Wednesday, three came positive — one each from Yavatmal, Pandharkawda and Zari Jamni tehsils. The toll remained unchanged at 1,787. Of the 72,827 patients registered so far, 71,033 including two on Wednesday have recovered.
Amravati: Five new cases and six recoveries took the district’s caseload to 96,615 and recoveries to 95,010. There was no Covid death on Wednesday and the toll remained unchaged at 1,562. Now, 43 patients are under treatment in the district.
