There you have it guys. The new Honda CB200X has been revealed and prices will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!
The name of the motorcycle is Honda CB200X. That said, this is not in sync with the rumours that have been floating from the last few weeks that the bike will be named NX200.
The launch of the new Honda NX200 is just a few minutes away, less than 5 minutes to be precise (when this update was written). The motorcycle is expected to be priced close to the Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. More details soon, so stay tuned!
The ADV will come with a split saddle and split grab rails which should provide enough space and convenience for a pillion to ride along.
The teasers released so far show that the NX200 will come with alloy wheels instead of spoked ones. This is not uncommon as other competitors like the BMW G 310 GS and the KTM 250 Adventure also come with alloy wheels.
The soon-to-be-launched Honda NX200 will lock horns against the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, Hero XPulse 200 and also, the KTM 250 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS to a certain extent. If priced well, this can certainly draw volumes in the entry-level adventure touring segment that has been witnessing the growing interest of the customers since the last few years.
The launch of the new Honda NX200 is just a few minutes away. With the ongoing Covid-19 in place, the company will be hosting the launch event online. We will be attending the press conference and will be posting the minute-to-minute updates here. So stay tuned!
The Honda NX200 will be positioned below the Honda CB500X in the brand's ADV line-up for India. The motorcycle will NOT be retailed through the company's BigWing premium dealerships and will instead be sold through the regular RedWing outlets. Speaking of which, the NX200 will be positioned above the Hornet 2.0 on which it comes based. More details soon, so stay tuned!
The multiple teaser videos released in recent times by the company do spill some beans about the Honda NX200. These confirm that the bike will come with an engine cowl along with dual-purpose tyres, a tinted visor and also, upside-down forks at the front. In addition, the bike might also get a negative LCD display for the instrument cluster like the one we have seen on the CB500X.
The upcoming Honda NX200 will get power from the same 184cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the Hornet 2.0. The fuel-injected motor on the latter is good for producing respective power and torque outputs of 17 hp and 16 Nm. These figures will likely remain the same on the NX200 as well. Transmission should also be a five-speed unit.
Below is an image of the Honda NX200 from which you can get a good idea about the motorcycle. Upfront, the bike will get golden finished USD forks and one can clearly see the Hornet 2.0 resemblance. Moreover, the motorcycle will get an angular all-LED headlamp and the same should offer good illumination in the dark. There is also a vinted windscreen.
The soon to be launched Honda NX200 is based on the Hornet 2.0. The latter is currently priced in India at Rs 1.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The NX200 will demand a considerable premium over Hornet 2.0 and hence, if you ask us, its pricing would very well cross the Rs 1.5 lakh mark. That said, we are expecting a price of close to Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom) for Honda's most affordable ADV.
Competition is growing in the entry-level ADV segment in India and the customer sentiment has certainly flourished over the years. That said, Honda would also want to have a share of that pie and hence, is launching the NX200 that will directly compete with bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Hero XPulse 200. Also, it is the company's most affordable ADV and if priced well, can attract good volumes.
