Rangers recovered from the first-half dismissal of John Lundstram to grab a slender lead in the Europa League play-off tie.
The experienced Rangers midfielder was sent off two minutes before half-time after picking up a second yellow card.
Rangers went ahead on 67 minutes, with Alfredo Morelos running on to a James Tavernier pass and finishing from close in.
